VIP - Creating Users

Users are created for giving people access to your phone system. Every user will have an extension, and every device will need to be tied to an extension. You will also find that things like General Mailboxes, Call Queues, Auto Attendants, and more exist as users on your phone system. Users and extensions are intertwined – You can’t have one without the other. In this guide, we will cover how to create, modify, and remove users.

Creating Users

  1. In the Manager Portal, select the Users button at the top of your screen.
  2. In the list of Users, select the blue “Add User” button on the right.
  3. A pop-up will appear, like so:


    Using the above image for reference, fill out the form. Forms in the red box need to be filled out in order to proceed with saving the user. Please note that the chosen extension number should match the length of other users’ extensions – and cannot be changed once the user has been created. Duplicate extension numbers are prohibited.
  4. Click “Add User” and the user will be created. After that, you may pair a device to the user.

Modifying Users

  1. In the Manager Portal, select the Users button at the top of your screen
  2. In the list of Users, select the Edit button on the right hand side of the user you wish to edit. The edit button appears as follows:
  3. A list of options should appear – These options will be available on the next page as tabs, but for the most part you will want to select “Profile”. These options appear as follows:
  4. After selecting profile, please see the following image for a description of most options:
  5. Once you’ve made your changes, click the blue “Save” button to save them. You should then see a confirmation at the top of the page indicating that your changes have been saved.

Deleting Users

  1. In the Manager Portal, select the Users button at the top of your screen.
  2. In the User list, find the user you wish to delete and click on the red X button, seen here:
  3. Once you’ve clicked X, a small popup will ask you to confirm that you want to delete the user, seen here:
  4. Selecting Yes will delete the user and refresh the page. Selecting No will close the confirmation dialogue.
