The Group Voicemail Extension allows a specified group of Users to share a common voice mailbox. When a voicemail message is left on the Group Voicemail extension, a notification is sent to the Message Inboxes of all the Users who are assigned the Group Voicemail extension. Each User can receive a separate copy of the voicemail or share a single copy of the message. In the latter case, the first person to retrieve the message "owns" it and the message disappears from all other Group Voicemail members' inboxes.
Configuration
The fields are defined below--all are editable.
| Name | Enter or change the name of the extension by editing this field. The names "Anonymous" and "Unknown" are not allowed. |
| Extension | Enter or edit the extension number. This extension must follow the Configuration Pattern. |
| Owner | Assign or change the owner of the extension (the person to whom the extension is assigned.) |
| Voicemail Prompt | Add a Group Voicemail Prompt here. A player tool will play the new recording. Listen to it over computer's speakers or by plugging in headphones. The standard Volume Adjustments, Play, Pause, Go to Beginning and Go to End icon options are available. |
| Distribute Voicemails | Designate whether messages received at this Extension are distributed amongst all Users assigned to this Extension or if only one copy of the message is retained and is "claimed" by the first user who retrieves the message. |
